TAKREER Ruwais Refinery Expansion

The Ruwais Refinery Expansion is a significant project by the Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company (TAKREER), part of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). This 10 billion investment has enhanced the refinery's capacity to process crude oil, increasing its output to approximately 837,000 barrels per day, making it the largest refinery in the Middle East and the fourth-largest globally. The expansion includes advanced facilities such as a Crude Distillation Unit and the world's largest Residual Fluid Catalytic Cracker. It produces a variety of petroleum products, including unleaded gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and propylene, which supports the adjacent Borouge petrochemical complex.
