Special Olympics Saudi Arabia

Special Olympics Saudi Arabia (SOSA) is a national chapter of the global Special Olympics movement, dedicated to providing year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Founded in 1994 in Riyadh, SOSA aims to foster physical fitness, courage, joy, and social inclusion through various sports programs. As of 2023, SOSA serves over 1,060 registered athletes and participants, supported by 139 coaches and hosting 93 competitions annually. The organization focuses on several key programs, including Athlete Leadership, Unified Champion Schools, Healthy Athletes, Healthy Community, and the Young Athletes Program.
