About the Company

Sohar Aluminium is the first aluminium smelter in Oman, established in September 2004. It is a joint venture between OQ Group, Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), and Rio Tinto. The company has an annual production capacity of approximately 375,000–395,000 tonnes of high-quality primary aluminium, with a significant portion supplied to local industries and the remainder exported internationally. The facility includes a 1,000 MW power plant and port facilities that support large vessels for raw material receipt and finished product export. Sohar Aluminium is committed to sustainability, holding multiple international certifications, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
