Saudi Gold Refinery Co. (SGR) is a privately owned company based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, established in 2016. It serves as the mining arm of the Al-Othaim family conglomerate, which has a history in jewelry retail and manufacturing dating back to the 1980s. SGR operates an integrated model that encompasses gold mining, refining, production, and retail, making it the first Saudi firm to combine all four sectors under one organization. The company is also expanding into base metals like copper. SGR's flagship asset is the Hamda gold mine, which has been operational for about 10 years and produces approximately 65,000 ounces of gold annually.
