Qatar Biobank

Qatar Biobank (QBB), established in 2012, is a national clinical biobank and health research initiative created by Qatar Foundation in collaboration with the Supreme Council of Health and Hamad Medical Corporation. It operates within Qatar Foundation’s Biomedical Research Institute, focusing on biomedical, population, and genetic research to support personalized medicine. The biobank aims to recruit up to 60,000 Qatari nationals and long-term residents to facilitate studies on disease causes and public health. Qatar Biobank collects biological samples and extensive health data to support research on diseases prevalent in Qatar.
