Ministry of Heritage and Tourism - Sultanate of Oman

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MOHT) is the governmental body in Oman dedicated to promoting and preserving the country's heritage while developing its tourism sector. Established in 1975 and renamed in 2020, MOHT formulates policies for heritage and tourism, oversees antiquities, historic landmarks, and museums, and aims to position Oman as a leader in sustainable tourism. The ministry is led by Minister Salem bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi and is headquartered in Muscat. MOHT's core responsibilities include maintaining cultural monuments, restoring historical sites, and supporting the preservation of Omani arts and traditions.
