The General Authority for Competition (GAC) is an independent Saudi government body dedicated to overseeing and enforcing competition laws in the Kingdom. Established in 2004, GAC aims to promote fair competition and combat monopolistic practices. It operates with full legal, financial, and administrative independence, ensuring impartiality in its operations. Headquartered in Riyadh, GAC employs around 115 people and generates approximately $5.8 million in revenue. GAC's primary mission is to protect and encourage fair competition while monitoring anti-competitive behaviors. It is responsible for enforcing competition laws, investigating violations, and managing merger control processes.
