First Gas Limited, operating as Firstgas, is New Zealand's leading natural gas transmission and distribution company. It manages an extensive network of 2,517 km of high-pressure transmission pipelines that transport natural gas from Taranaki fields across the North Island. The company also operates approximately 4,996 km of gas distribution pipelines, connecting over 68,000 homes and businesses directly and serving more than 300,000 indirectly. First Gas is part of the Clarus energy group and is committed to supporting New Zealand's net zero carbon goals by 2050. It invests in renewable energy solutions, including biomethane and hydrogen, through its subsidiary, First Renewables.
