The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) is the main educational authority in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, UAE. Established in 2005, ADEK oversees public charter schools, private schools, nurseries, and higher education institutions. Its mission is to create a world-class education system that emphasizes creativity, sustainability, and excellence while preparing learners for global challenges. ADEK manages 31 public charter schools and licenses 185 private schools, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. It also oversees 18 higher education institutions, focusing on quality assurance and policy implementation.
