Animal Welfare Abu Dhabi (AWAD)

Animal Welfare Abu Dhabi (AWAD) is a non-profit organization committed to protecting and improving the lives of animals across the emirate. Founded in 2025, AWAD was inspired by Abu Dhabi's reputation as one of the safest cities in the world with a vision to extend that same sense of safety, compassion, and care to all animals, both companion and stray. Before its launch, AWAD conducted Abu Dhabi's first animal welfare awareness survey, revealing overwhelming public support: 91% of pet owners and 81% of non-pet owners believe animals deserve the same respect as humans. This finding continues to drive AWAD's mission to build a community rooted in empathy, respect, and responsibility.
